This free newsletter is dedicated to delivering news and updates about events and activities organized by Create with Swift and the imaginary institute in Naples, Italy. You’re receiving this newsletter because you participated in our first event, the Create with Swift Napoli Meetup, on September 13th.
We’d love to have your continued support in strengthening and enriching the Apple Developer community in Naples. In this first edition of the newsletter, we have a lot to discuss, so let’s get started!
The first meetup
On September 13th, 2024, we held our inaugural Create with Swift Napoli Meetup, where we gathered for the first time to kickstart this project aimed at strengthening the Apple Developer community in Naples.
The primary objective of the event was to seek your valuable input and understand your expectations for a robust developer community. We engaged in a co-design activity that provided crucial insights into the makeup of the developer community in Naples, their aspirations, and their preferred communication channels.
We extend a big thank you to everyone who took the time to join us and share their thoughts. Here are some of the key learnings we gathered:
The Apple Developer community in Naples is vibrant and diverse, comprising individuals from various backgrounds.
The Apple Developer community in Naples is a vibrant melting pot of diverse individuals, including user experience designers, programmers, interface designers, marketing specialists, graphic artists, illustrators, community managers, game developers, students embarking on their first steps in the tech industry, and people from all walks of life. This unique blend of backgrounds is what makes the Apple Developer community in Naples truly special.
Members of the community value frequent interactions, creative exploration, and collaborative endeavors.
Creation is an innate part of our being, a craving to showcase our skills and leave a lasting impact on the world. To achieve this, people have suggested frequent meetings to facilitate collaboration and exchange of ideas.
There is a pressing need for a designated space where people can connect, organize, and share their knowledge and ideas.
The developer community in Naples lacks a dedicated space for itself. Despite numerous educational and professional initiatives in the city, there’s a lack of communication and connection among them. We need to create that space.
Naples Developer Community on Discord!
The foundation of every community lies in a gathering place where members can connect, communicate, share ideas, and collaborate. Among the various options you’ve presented, Discord emerges as the most comprehensive choice.
We are happy to announce the launch of the Create with Swift Discord Server for the Apple Developer community of Naples!
The server aims to serve as a secure platform for the Apple developer community in Naples to connect, collaborate, and create content collectively! For now, it has channels and forums in place to:
- Promote discussions about topics related to the development of applications within the Apple ecosystem of technologies
- Support networking among the members of the community, presenting professional opportunities to each other and connecting with professionals working in the same area as you
- Sharing the projects you are working on, sharing ideas on how to evolve the community, asking questions, promoting your apps, promoting events related to the community, and much more!
This is just the start, so we are open to your ideas and feedback on how to shape the server to fit the needs of the community and transform it into the home of all Apple developers and designers in Naples.
Help us find a location for our next meetup!
We are looking for a place that can host our next meetup event and we need your help! We are looking for a bigger format this time and for that we need a place that:
- Is easy to access with public transportation
- Has the structure to accommodate the presentations
- Has the capacity to host a bigger number of people
